I feel like Reese has completely blossomed from baby to toddler over the last few months. So much has changed since her 1st birthday. Most days, Reese is in totally "busy" all day long around the house. She loves bags (tote bags, reusable grocery bags, or anything else with a strap really), and can be seen walking around the house with various bags strapped over her shoulder while doing something else. She will find little items to keep in said bags throughout the day, meaning things have a tendency to go missing around here now quite often (i.e.- she swiped my cell phone the other day to add to her treasures, took me a while to figure it out). She also loves trying to put the leash on Avery, pulling all items out of any bin, cabinet, or drawer. Doesn't really go for many specific toys anymore, but is always interested in what we are doing and how she can get in on it! And you definitely can't eat in front of this girl unless you are willing to share!
Age: 18 months
Height/Weight: 33 inches long/23 pounds
Words: Mum, Da, Ay (for Avery), Ba (usually baby), Umpa (grandpa!), okaaaay, and yah!, also uh-ohhh if she drops something. Oooff for a dog. Will also yell HEY! HEY! if Avery is in her way or if she is frustrated by something.
Signs: Open, food, milk, water, please, help, I love you, all done, more, again, train, wash hands, kiss, downstairs.
Teeth: Two bottom teeth ONLY!
Sleep: Wake-up around 7:00 am, one nap from about 12:00-2:45 pm, and bedtime around 7:30 pm.
Favorite Foods: Bananas (will eat at least one every morning, and will sign specifically for a banana!), applesauce with hemp seeds, blackberries, blueberries, avocado, baked sweet potato, pumpkin puree, plain yogurt, pumpkin-chia overnight oats, homemade muffins, waffles or pancakes, peanut or almond butter on toast, oranges, shredded chicken, green peas, spaghetti with tomato sauce, sometimes ground turkey or ground beef in tomato sauce, guacamole, hummus, cheese, raisins, Whole Foods brand veggie sticks (which are basically chips).
Favorite Things: Her paci, Aden+Anais swaddle blankets for nap and bedtime (loves scrunching it up and holding it next to her cheek), books (especially this book Chicago Baby), her "toothbrush" (we use this toothbrush with this toothpaste, the play kitchen, singing, Avery and throwing toys at her, when the toaster pops, the laundry, markers, crayons and pens, trying to fit in boxes, bins and other random small spaces, her mini dyson vacuum, bags, shoes, winter gloves, hats and all accessories, being outside, going on walks, Sesame Street and especially Elmo's World.
Least Favorite Things: Diaper changes, getting dressed, being told no, being hungry, being woken-up early, getting strapped into the car seat, getting her hair rinsed during bath-time, being restrained in the stroller or grocery store cart for more than 2 minutes.
Overall, she is such a sweet and happy girl, with a definite independent streak. She understands so much more than we realize, and internalizes everything. Her toddler antics can wear me down during the day sometimes, but each night, she will give me a slobbery open-mouth kiss and sign "I love you" before going to bed. Total sweetness!
